Ingredients

  • 2 Bananas, frozen
  • 3 tbsp Natural peanut butter
  • ½ cup Old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 ½ cups Unsweetened soy milk
  • 2 Medjool dates, pitted
  • ½ tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Chia seeds
  • ⅛ tsp Kosher salt

Method

  1. Blend the oats alone for 20 seconds first, into a rough flour. Whole oats in a smoothie stay gritty; blended first they disappear and thicken it.
  2. Add everything else and blend 60 seconds until completely smooth.
  3. Let it sit two minutes — the chia and oats keep drinking and it thickens noticeably. Thin with a splash more milk if you want.

Notes

✨ The restaurant touch
Freeze bananas when they go spotty. Frozen banana is what makes a smoothie thick without ice watering it down.
🧒 For the kids
Freeze it in lolly molds. It is a peanut butter banana lolly with oats and soy milk in it, and nobody complains.
🥡 Leftovers
Keeps overnight in a jar; shake hard before drinking.
