The Green One
Three minutes, one blender, and it is genuinely green rather than green-adjacent. Flax and soy milk for the heart, frozen banana for the texture.

Ingredients
- 2 Bananas, frozen
- 3 cups Baby spinach
- 1 ½ cups Frozen mixed berries
- 2 cups Unsweetened soy milk
- ½ cup Plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp Ground flaxseed
- 2 tbsp Almond butter
- ½ tsp Ground cinnamon
Method
- Liquid first, then soft, then frozen — that order is why some blenders jam and others don't.
- Blend the soy milk, yogurt, spinach and flax first until completely smooth and no flecks remain. This is the step that makes it drinkable for a suspicious eight-year-old.
- Add the frozen banana, berries, almond butter and cinnamon. Blend 45 seconds until thick.
- Pour and drink within a few minutes — it separates.
Notes
- ✨ The restaurant touch
- Freeze the bananas in chunks. Fresh banana makes a thin smoothie; frozen makes it milkshake-thick with nothing added.
- 🧒 For the kids
- Blend the spinach into the liquid completely before adding berries. Once the berries go in it turns purple and nobody asks questions.
- 🌿 From the garden
- Spring spinach straight from the bed.
- 🥡 Leftovers
- Pour extras into popsicle molds. That is dessert solved too.
